Neil Thomas speaks at Mississauga Board of Trade Seminar
OneCAD Solutions Ltd., Markham, ON, Canada
November 11, 2010
Neil Thomas, President of OneCAD Solutions spoke today at the Mississauga Board of Trade’s (MBOT) seminar on hiring foreign trained professionals. With this first seminar, the MBOT launched its “Internationally Trained & Skilled in Mississauga” program aimed on educating businesses on the great value in hiring skilled new Canadians as Canada heads towards a severe skilled labour shortage. The 2 year program is an initiative of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and is funded by both the provincial and federal governments and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
Along with invited speakers from Xerox, Longos, RBC and Canadian Springs, Mr. Thomas spoke about OneCAD’s best practices and successes in hiring new Canadians. OneCAD has 18 people of which 15 are technical staff. The majority of its technical staff are new Canadians in the mechanical engineering field who have come to Canada with years of engineering and manufacturing experience.
This first seminar was well attended with over 75 people in the audience and it will be repeated in early December. For more information about this new initiative contact the MBOT at www.mbot.com
